Frequently Asked Questions
Send me an email and we’ll arrange a time to have a free 20-30 minute phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit for working together. If so, we will schedule our first session and I will email you client paperwork and my practice policies which you will complete through a secure client portal.
I start our work with an intake process that takes place over 2-3 sessions and covers a wide range of topics about your life. The intake process gives me a thorough view of your history and what you’d like to get out of therapy. Part of it is completing a Genogram, which is a family tree that graphically represents family members’ relationships and personalities as well as family patterns of addiction, trauma, or abuse. Clients report feeling very “seen” after the intake process.
The first 1-2 sessions in your child’s treatment are parent only sessions. These initial meetings are intake sessions in which we complete a thorough history of your child’s life, including a Genogram (see above). After the intake process is complete, we have a family session with your child. After this session, if your child feels ready, I begin working individually with your child. If your child needs more time with your present in the session before they feel ready to attend by themself, that is fine.
I am not in network with any insurance companies. I am considered an Out of Network Provider for insurance plans. If you have a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan with out of network benefits, you may be able to submit claims directly to your insurance company and receive reimbursement. You can call the Member Services phone number on the back of your insurance card to inquire as to whether you have out of network benefits. I provide clients a “superbill” once a month which is the document your insurance company needs to provide reimbursement.
My rate is $175 per session.
Both. I work in person in Princeton, Massachusetts, a small town about 30 minutes north of Worcester, MA and an hour west of Boston, MA. I work remotely via Zoom. I see clients who are residents of the state of Massachusetts. Some client prefer a hybrid arrangement in which they do some sessions on Zoom and some in person.
You don’t need to have any special connection with your body or experience with somatic work or other body-based practices to benefit from doing somatic work.
I reserve several slots in my schedule for those seeking clinical supervision towards licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and for those seeking clinical consultation on cases.
